To provide the students with a harmonious and integral development, covering the cognitive, emotional, social, physical and artistic areas, supplying them with oral and written fluency in a second language (English) and, based on an appreciation of traditional national values, furnishing them with a universal and multicultural awareness which will enhance their knowledge and conviviality among all human beings, without regard to nationality, race or creed.

We aspire to being an effective institution, with students and alumni who reflect, through their actions in the community in which they live, their solid academic background, universal values, love of country, social responsiveness and obligation, as well as their appreciation for the arts and physical well-being. We also seek to form leaders who are active in the resolution of problems which motivate the future of our nation, and who offer services which will contribute to the formation and integral development of the people.

Escuela Sierra Nevada, S.C., was founded by Mrs. Maude Crocker in February, 1950, as a private institution, independent of political and religious beliefs, dedicated to elementary school teaching, under bilingual (English – Spanish), bicultural (with academic programs from Mexico and the United States), and co-educational, systems. The school is directed primarily to children of English-speaking communities established in Mexico City, and to Mexican and foreign children whose families are interested in and prefer this type of education.

For 33 years, Escuela Sierra Nevada, or “Ms. Crocker's School”, as it was better known, distinguished itself in offering a solid academic program which prepared the students for any secondary school in Mexico and abroad.

In 1983, Mrs.Crocker retired due to her advanced age, and Mr. Alejandro Aguilar Resplendino , a graduate in Education, acquired the school and took over the Administration as General Director.

Under the new administration, the school initially widened its educational services to include Preschool. In addition to emphasizing perceptual, sensory and psychomotor development, our Preschool operates exclusively in English, with the purpose of preparing the children for a completely bilingual elementary education. Secondary, incorporated to the Board of Public Education (SEP), and High School, incorporated to the Colegio de Bachilleres, were subsequently added, thus covering all academic levels. Our complete school system enables students to successfully transition to University.

In 1996, San Mateo Campus was opened, offering an education at Preschool, Elementary, Secondary and High School levels.

The Interlomas Campus was inaugurated in time for the 2000 – 2001 school year offering, as San Mateo Campus, Preschool, Elementary, Secondary and High School Education.

Finally, in 2003, Escuela Sierra Nevada pledges itself as a Socially Responsible Institution by opening Centro Educativo Nemi, which provides a Preschool and Elementary education. Nemi is an educational facility geared toward helping children of low-income families. All its students have a high intellectual capacity, as well as a well-developed sense of family awareness. By creating this Center, the school is contributing to the educational growth of new generations in Mexico, and especially to that of our children and our community.
